Docs MCP Server
The Postpone API documentation has its own Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Connect it to an AI coding assistant like Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, or Windsurf, and the assistant can look up the exact queries, mutations, input fields, and examples it needs while it writes code against the Postpone API.
https://api.postpone.app/mcp) acts on your Postpone account. Many developers connect both: the Docs MCP server to write integration code, and the Postpone MCP server to manage posts.MCP Server URL
https://developers.postpone.app/mcp
The server speaks streamable HTTP. It's public and read-only, so there's no authentication to set up.
How It Works
Once the server is connected, your assistant decides when to use it. For example, if you ask it to "write a Python script that schedules a Reddit post with an image," it can:
- Call
list-pagesto find the relevant pages, such as Reddit and Uploading Media. - Call
get-pageto read those pages in full. - Write code using the current field names, required inputs, and error handling from the docs instead of guessing.
Because the assistant reads the live docs, it picks up new platforms and fields as soon as they're documented. Check the API Changelog to see what's new.
Available Tools
| Tool | Description |
|---|---|
list-pages | Lists every documentation page with its title, path, description, and URL. Assistants use it to find relevant pages. |
get-page | Returns the full Markdown content of one page, given its path (for example, /scheduling-posts/platforms/reddit). |
Setup
Claude Code
Add the server from your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http postpone-docs https://developers.postpone.app/mcp
Cursor
Or add it manually to .cursor/mcp.json in your project root:
{
"mcpServers": {
"postpone-docs": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://developers.postpone.app/mcp"
}
}
}
Visual Studio Code
Make sure the GitHub Copilot and GitHub Copilot Chat extensions are installed.
Or add it manually to .vscode/mcp.json:
{
"servers": {
"postpone-docs": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://developers.postpone.app/mcp"
}
}
}
Windsurf
- Open Windsurf and go to Settings > Windsurf Settings > Cascade.
- Click Manage MCPs, then select View raw config.
- Add the following configuration:
{
"mcpServers": {
"postpone-docs": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://developers.postpone.app/mcp"
}
}
}
Other clients
Any MCP client that supports streamable HTTP can connect. Add a server named postpone-docs with the URL https://developers.postpone.app/mcp. No headers are required.
Other Ways to Give AI the Docs
If your tool doesn't support MCP, you can still point it at the docs:
- llms.txt: llms.txt lists every page with a link to its Markdown version, and llms-full.txt contains all of the docs in one file.
- Copy page: every page has a Copy page button in the top right. It copies the page as Markdown, and its menu has options to open the page in ChatGPT or Claude.
